Armond Armstead, now 22, filed his suit Thursday. The once 6’5″ 295-pound claims his budding career as a potential NFL player was derailed after he suffered a heart attack while he was at USC. Fourteen people, including 11 children, were injured Wednesday afternoon when a car jumped a curb outside Main Street Elementary School. The victims were taken to three hospitals and two of them were listed in critical condition at County-USC Medical Center. Police said none of the injuries were life-threatening. A 53-year-old man was charged Friday with the 1977 rape and murder of a teenage mother in Long Beach. Martell Nathaniel Chubbs, 53, is accused of murdering 17-year-old Shelley H. on Dec. 27, 1977. Chubbs is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. If convicted, Chubbs could get the death penalty. Suraya Fadel Reporting
