The Story Behind The Story


An Altadena couple remembered the life and sudden death of their teen  son who collapsed in a Harvard-Westlake pool earlier this year. Darrell and Susan Carr said their 16-year-old son, Justin, was a standout at the prestigious Studio City school. He loved his parents, painting, performing, school activities, and architecture. Justin’s parents have also launched the Justin Carr Wants World Peace Foundation to teach people about the dangers of cardiomyopathy, and most importantly, to keep Justin’s memory alive. CBS2’s Suraya Fadel reports.

A class action lawsuit filed Tuesday accuses CalPERS of intentionally misleading over 100,000 retirees over the past 18 years by selling them long-term insurance that turned out to be insufficiently funded and under duress for a decade. A father is desperate to find his 18-year-old daughter who went missing early Monday morning. Dr. Ardeshir Karimi told KCAL9 that he last saw his daughter, Caroline, around 7 a.m. at their residence in the 2900 block of Queensbury Dr. in Cheviot Hills. He said she was headed to work as a San Gabriel Valley Medical Center volunteer, but never showed up. Caroline’s last known stop was two miles away from her home at the Vons at the Cheviot Hills Shopping Center. Security cameras showed her walking in, grabbing food, going back to her car and then driving away. Suraya Fadel Reporting
