Evacuation orders were lifted for more than 3,000 residents Monday night as authorities reported 60 percent containment of the Powerhouse Fire. The fire, which has burned more than 32,000 acres and 46 square miles between Santa Clarita and the Antelope Valley, has damaged nine homes and destroyed six, according to authorities. A brush fire burning near the San Gabriel River has prompted the evacuation of the east Fork community. The fire reportedly broke out around 2:15 p.m. near the Julius Klein Conservation Camp #19 in the Angeles National Forest, just north of Glendora. Officials report that the fire was burning uphill and at a rapid rate. Suraya Fadel reports
